Marketing Landing Page System

A reusable WordPress component system for conversion-focused campaign landing pages.

Sole engineer — component architecture and performance

Overview

Agency clients running paid media campaigns needed new landing pages constantly — often on tight campaign timelines — without sacrificing load speed or brand consistency across dozens of pages.

The Challenge

Building each landing page from scratch didn’t scale: it was slow, inconsistent, and made performance regressions likely as more pages shipped under deadline pressure. The system needed to make new pages fast to produce and fast to load.

My Role

I designed and built the reusable component system that every subsequent landing page was assembled from, and owned the performance budget across the whole set.

Architecture

A library of ACF-driven, reusable WordPress components (hero variants, offer blocks, forms, testimonial layouts) let campaign teams assemble new pages from a defined set of production-ready building blocks instead of writing new templates per campaign.

Technical Implementation

Engineering Challenges

Reusable components tend to accumulate unused CSS/JS over time as more variants are added. Left unchecked, that erodes the exact performance advantage the system exists to protect.

Solution

Component-scoped styles and conditional asset loading (a component’s CSS/JS only loads on pages that use it) kept per-page weight proportional to what the page actually needed, rather than growing with the size of the whole library.

Performance / Security / Scalability

Image optimization, caching, and code refactoring across the system pushed performance improvements of up to 80%, with Google PageSpeed scores of 90+ maintained across the majority of pages built on it — critical given the pages existed specifically to convert paid traffic.

Results

30+ landing pages shipped across campaigns supporting more than $2M in digital advertising spend, produced faster than one-off builds while holding a consistent performance bar.

Key Takeaways

This project shows product thinking applied to WordPress engineering: the deliverable wasn’t one page, it was a system that made every future page cheaper to build and faster to load.
